Energy class A required for new buildings in Greece

The requirements for classification in energy class A must now be observed for new building permits!

Previously, the building physicist responsible had to submit a study on the energy efficiency of the house for new buildings, which met the requirements for classification in energy class B +.

Since this summer, building permits, which are issued with immediate effect, have to meet the requirements for classification in the higher energy class A (possibly depending on the region)!

A new study must be prepared here for every new building project. Many factors play a role in calculating the energy class, such as external insulation, the respective heating system, fans or air conditioning systems, use of air heat pumps, collectors for hot water preparation, etc.

However, in order to meet the requirements for classification in energy class A, it will be necessary to install an additional photovoltaic system. There are corresponding formulas and calculations for this in order to be able to achieve energy class A, which the building physicist has to carry out.

For a newly built holiday home with a gross area of 150 to 180 m², the minimum requirement for a photovoltaic system is 1.5 to 2 kW of power which it must provide - which corresponds to approx. 4-6 solar modules / panels.

With the energy generated and stored in this way, part of your own electricity requirements can be covered directly or fed into the public electricity grid and offset.
